Responsibilities
- Deliver IAM capabilities across the Ping platform from infrastructure and databases through UI experiences.
- Define and evolve common APIs, models, workflows, orchestration surfaces, and services for platform-level capabilities.
- Research, prototype, and deliver features for Identity for AI and AI-first platform experiences.
- Collaborate with product management, UX, and engineering teams to deliver elegant, usable, and scalable outcomes.
- Participate in design, coding, testing, rollout, and production support.
- Use Claude Code and other modern AI tooling in daily engineering work.
- Mentor engineers, communicate effectively, and set a strong technical example.
- Adapt to changing customer needs, technology trends, and ways of working.
Requirements
- Design, build, test, and operate production services using Java, JavaScript, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Use AI engineering tools to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, implementation, and documentation with sound engineering judgment.
- Build distributed systems, platform capabilities, internal developer platforms, or shared product infrastructure.
- Design APIs, RESTful services, service boundaries, integration contracts, and data or domain models.
- Turn ambiguous ideas into technical direction, prototypes, and production-ready solutions.
- Have experience with authentication, authorisation, and identity management.
- Communicate technical direction clearly, mentor engineers, and coordinate work across teams and time zones.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, delegated administration, or identity data modelling is advantageous.
- Experience with AI agent identity, non-human identity, MCP, agent skills, or other agent integration concepts is advantageous.
- Experience across multiple codebases, teams, or product areas; distributed systems at scale; international teams; and platform architecture is advantageous.
- Experience writing technical designs, proofs of concept, and decision-support material for leadership and partner teams is advantageous.
