Quality Assurance Engineering Specialist
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Break down quality-related problems, estimate task effort, and test features or small feature sets with appropriate guidance.
- Design, write, execute, and monitor automated, functional, end-to-end, integration, API, performance, and manual tests.
- Build robust automated testing frameworks and create valid tests that continue to verify requirements after code refactoring.
- Execute automated test suites with Jenkins and manage complex test data across multiple environments.
- Collaborate with Quality Leaders to create test plans and contribute to quality metrics, coding patterns, documentation, and testing best practices.
- Apply software development lifecycle and testing methodologies while delivering work independently and escalating issues when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM major.
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience.
- Experience with test automation using Playwright and coding in JavaScript and Python.
- Exposure to performance testing with JMeter and API automation using Postman, Playwright, or RestAssured alongside SOAP or REST services.
- Strong manual testing experience covering functional, end-to-end, and integration cases.
- Experience executing and monitoring automated test suites with Jenkins.
- Experience with project management tools such as Trello, Rally, or ADO.
- Knowledge of Docker and/or Kubernetes for testing environments.
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub for version control and collaborative code reviews.
- Exposure to AWS or Azure and their testing and deployment pipelines.
- Understanding of the infrastructure required to run large distributed web applications is desirable.
- Experience with power systems domain software is a significant advantage.
- Ability to make basic technology choices, communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders, and work effectively with changing requirements.
