Responsibilities
- Spend approximately 25% of the time onsite with customers across the US.
- Build a ground-truth understanding of customer operations, workflows, constraints, and integration requirements.
- Rapidly prototype field tools and integrations to validate ideas, solve urgent problems, and prove feasibility.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex operational or systems issues in varied and degraded environments.
- Translate field insights into technical requirements and integration specifications for engineering.
- Lead technical integration work across APIs, data pipelines, hardware/software interfaces, and security- and compliance-sensitive deployments.
- Work with engineering to align features, interfaces, and infrastructure with operational needs.
- Enable smooth deployment, data flow, connectivity, and operational reliability in mission-critical contexts.
- Support pre-sales by traveling onsite with prospects to demonstrate and validate the product.
- Help establish the foundation, processes, and culture for Realm’s forward deployed engineering function.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software engineering or forward deployed/mission operations experience with a record of shipping impactful work.
- Strong coding, debugging, problem-solving, and computer science fundamentals sufficient to build prototypes and work closely with engineers.
- Experience working directly with enterprise, industrial, government, defense, or security-critical products.
- Mastery of core development, infrastructure, and DevOps tools including Git and Linux.
- Ability to lead cross-functional problem solving, influence technical teams, and drive projects from inception to delivery.
- Strong data instincts and ability to analyze data, form hypotheses, and make data-informed decisions.
- Hands-on prototyping and AI-assisted coding experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, collaborative instincts, and ability to operate in ambiguous environments.
- US-based; US citizenship is preferred, or permanent residency.
- Preferred experience includes onsite customer work, industrial or government software deployment, mobile or web applications, cloud infrastructure, IoT or industrial systems, real-time data pipelines, sensitive customer environments, mining, or industrial safety regulations.
