Responsibilities
- Improve services across their full lifecycle, including design, deployment, operation, and refinement.
- Analyze ITSM activities and provide development teams with feedback on operational gaps and resiliency concerns.
- Support pre-launch activities such as system design consulting, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
- Monitor live services for availability, latency, and overall system health.
- Automate operational processes and improve system reliability, scalability, and delivery velocity.
- Participate in incident response, production triage, root-cause analysis, and blameless postmortems.
- Connect information across the technology stack during production events to optimize mean time to recover.
- Collaborate with global teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical/work experience.
- 1–3 years of experience with UNIX, scripting, Oracle, and SQL.
- Experience with C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby is preferred.
- Interest in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, organizational, communication, collaboration, relationship, and customer-service skills.
- Experience in a financial environment is preferred.
- Ability to handle difficult situations and make decisions with a sense of urgency.
