Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and operate scalable, reliable, observable, performant, and secure production systems.
- Develop automation to reduce operational toil and improve monitoring, alerting, and automated incident handling.
- Create incident response runbooks, triage infrastructure issues, and write postmortems.
- Plan production maintenance windows and coordinate with third-party vendor support.
- Identify infrastructure bottlenecks with product development teams and design solutions that improve developer experience and workflow efficiency.
- Evaluate infrastructure and platform best practices and study open-source implementations to improve triage and resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus three years of experience, master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus three years of experience, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of Go, Python, or shell scripting sufficient to implement medium-complexity automation workflows.
- Linux or UNIX administration and debugging experience.
- Hands-on experience operating infrastructure or complex software systems at scale.
- Experience with server provisioning, particularly from storage and networking perspectives.
- Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code.
- Preferred experience includes database management, Docker and virtualization, monitoring stacks, Elasticsearch clusters, Artifactory and container registries, CI/CD systems, version control systems, infrastructure-as-code frameworks, large Java applications, and storage infrastructure.
