Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for managing databases in virtualized environments and Kubernetes clusters.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve challenges in large-scale, highly available database infrastructure.
- Lead migrations of database services from virtual machines to Kubernetes with minimal downtime.
- Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and performance tuning for on-premise database systems.
- Implement and manage observability, logging, and alerting systems.
- Automate infrastructure workflows and manage stateful applications across Telnyx’s multi-cloud platform.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience in infrastructure operations, especially with Linux-based systems.
- Expertise in at least one deployment or orchestration technology such as Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform, with experience managing stateful applications.
- Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience managing at least one relational database such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience with non-relational databases such as Cassandra, OpenSearch, or other distributed data stores is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ, including scaling and monitoring distributed deployments, is beneficial.
- Proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack is beneficial.
- Knowledge of service discovery tools such as Consul is a bonus.
