Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Design and optimize high-throughput serving systems to reduce latency and maintain high service availability.
- Implement automated circuit breakers, robust event logging, and granular telemetry.
- Build scalable automated serving paths and dynamically route inventory as merchants increase traffic.
- Establish a reliable central source of truth for integration health used by downstream systems.
- Architect backend foundations for expansion into international markets and new verticals such as groceries and lodging.
- Define the technical goals and backend architecture for UCP’s core serving infrastructure.
- Mentor and guide backend engineers through complex distributed-systems scaling challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Five years of software development experience in Java or more programming languages.
- Three years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- Three years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- One year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: five years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: one year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Preferred: experience developing accessible technologies.
