Responsibilities
- Design and develop application code in App Volumes Manager using Ruby on Rails.
- Design and develop microservices for Horizon Cloud Services supporting App Volumes.
- Create software designs and implement new application virtualization use cases.
- Develop features for enterprise-scale, high-scale systems and improve software architecture and processes.
- Create and consume RESTful APIs and deliver full-stack software features.
- Investigate customer issues and escalations and resolve them with quality deliverables.
- Present ideas and improvements and contribute to collaborative software development.
Requirements
- 8+ years of industry work experience with hands-on software development.
- Strong full-stack development background using multiple frameworks and languages, with the ability to adapt.
- Strong backend development experience with Ruby on Rails and SQL databases such as Postgres and SQL Server, or proficiency in Java/J2EE server-side technologies.
- Frontend development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, or strong hands-on Java and Spring development experience.
- Hands-on experience developing features for enterprise-scale systems and high-scale services.
- Strong experience creating and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of test-driven design and testing concepts including mocks, stubs, fixtures, and spies.
- Strong software design and architectural skills using object-oriented and functional programming styles.
- Basic knowledge of PKI and SSL certificates.
- Understanding of continuous integration practices and Agile software development methodologies.
- Ability to communicate across organizational levels and diverse cultural, geographical, and linguistic groups.
- Preferred: expertise with Azure or Amazon Web Services and the ability to operate in a DevOps model.
- Preferred: experience with Jira, Stash, Bamboo, Windows systems, Active Directory or LDAP-based directory services, PHP, Laravel, Cake, Python, Django, JS, Express, Jenkins, Cucumber, and website and enterprise security issues.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
