Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support distributed microservices and platform applications.
- Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable, supportable cloud-native solutions.
- Build and maintain APIs, integration components, and event-driven services.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, lead engineers, and peer developers on shared platform capabilities.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and enterprise architecture implementation.
- Improve logging, monitoring, instrumentation, automation, testing, and operational health across services.
- Perform code reviews, debugging, and hands-on production support for distributed systems.
- Create reusable components, engineering practices, and technical documentation.
- Contribute to self-service tools, reusable frameworks, and developer enablement capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience delivering scalable cloud-native applications and services.
- Strong programming experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin, or similar technologies.
- Strong experience developing user interfaces with React, Next.js, or similar modern frameworks.
- Experience with microservices, distributed systems, real-time streaming architectures, and serverless patterns.
- Practical experience with AWS services and modern 12-factor application design.
- Experience building and supporting observable systems using logging, testing, security, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and production support practices.
- Experience with version control, branching, merging, and code review processes.
- Preferred experience with Kafka, AWS Kinesis, AWS EventBridge, AWS API Gateway, MuleSoft, or Apigee.
- Kafka, Kinesis, or MuleSoft certification or deep understanding is preferred.
- Exposure to self-service tools, reusable frameworks, or developer enablement capabilities is preferred.
