Responsibilities
- Design and improve scalable Ruby services for high-load, data-intensive systems.
- Own solutions from implementation through production and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Design fault-tolerant, highly available, and optimized solutions.
- Monitor and optimize services in production.
- Research and develop new technologies and tools.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, business, and other engineering teams.
- Contribute to technical decisions and engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least five years of software development experience.
- Strong Ruby programming skills.
- Hands-on experience developing and performance-tuning data-intensive applications.
- Experience developing complex solutions from scratch.
- Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of relational databases.
- Ability to investigate complex data issues, analyze large datasets, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Deep knowledge of data structures, object-oriented programming, and algorithms.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with ClickHouse and Kafka is preferred.
- Practical experience integrating AI-powered developer tools into daily development workflows is preferred.
- Ability to implement space- and time-efficient algorithms and select appropriate approaches.
- Readiness to learn other programming languages such as Golang and Scala.
- Familiarity with SRE practices and cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm, and Prometheus is preferred.
