Responsibilities
- Own technical strategy for complex opportunities and design scalable, performant applications, systems, and infrastructure leveraging MongoDB.
- Lead architecture reviews, evaluate trade-offs, identify risks, and guide customers across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
- Conduct discovery with technical and business stakeholders and connect MongoDB capabilities to business drivers, ROI/TCO, success criteria, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with Account Executives and Sales Leadership on account planning, qualification, opportunity prioritization, pipeline generation, and the technical sales cycle.
- Deliver demonstrations, proofs of value, proposals, sizing, presentations, documentation, technical workshops, executive briefings, webinars, and user groups.
- Build trusted relationships with architects, developers, operations leaders, and executives while supporting adoption, modernization, migration, and AI initiatives.
- Create reusable reference architectures, demos, playbooks, and technical content; mentor Solutions Architects and provide structured field feedback to Product and Engineering.
- Maintain ongoing training and development in MongoDB, cloud-native architectures, AI and RAG patterns, data security, observability, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Ideally 8 to 11 years of related customer-facing experience, including 5 to 7 years of pre-sales experience with enterprise software.
- At least 3 years of professional experience with modern scripting or programming languages such as Python, Node.js, SQL, C/C++, Java, or C#.
- Experience designing scalable and highly available distributed systems in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture reviews for complex, multi-component applications and platforms and provide modernization, optimization, and risk guidance.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills for explaining technical and business concepts to technology and business leaders.
- Ability to partner with Sales Leadership and Account Executives on multi-threaded account and territory strategies and align resources to customer outcomes.
- Experience connecting technical recommendations to business drivers, measurable outcomes, ROI/TCO, and success criteria.
- Experience engaging senior technical and business stakeholders, including executives, and influencing modernization, data, and AI strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred experience includes selling databases, deploying applications with major cloud providers, database programming, data models, data engineering, AI/ML projects, legacy modernization, MongoDB Certification, or Cloud Provider Certification.
