Responsibilities
- Translate system requirements into robust embedded-device software solutions.
- Design, develop, code, test, debug, integrate, and maintain system-level software for real-time multicore platforms.
- Participate throughout the software development lifecycle and verify software requirements against implementation and performance targets.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, algorithm, electrical engineering, partner, and customer teams on system integration and security architecture.
- Develop board support packages and device drivers and debug hardware interfaces and board-level issues.
- Define and evolve software architectures, including hardware, programmable-logic, software, and system-level partitioning.
- Produce block diagrams, interface control documents, traceability matrices, and trade studies.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 14 years of experience, master’s degree with 12 years, or Ph.D. with 10 years in a STEM or related technical field; up to four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- Current U.S. Government Secret security clearance and eligibility to work on a cleared U.S. government program.
- Proven system architecture experience spanning hardware, programmable logic, software, and system-level partitioning.
- Strong digital signal processing background and expert-level C++ proficiency.
- Fluency in at least one additional language or technology, such as Java, Python, or C#.
- Proficiency with SPI, UART, 1553, ARINC, and UAI communication protocols.
- Real-time software development experience on multicore System-on-Chip platforms, including board support package and device driver development.
- Full-cycle software development experience and demonstrated ability to define and evolve software architectures.
- Preferred qualifications include Git and Atlassian tool-suite experience, embedded preemptive multitasking RTOS development, VxWorks, hardware integration, oscilloscopes, complex troubleshooting, and system-requirements and code-efficiency tradeoff experience.

- Primary base salary range is $192,800.00–$289,200.00 annually.

- The position is full-time, on-site in Northridge, CA; no remote or telework arrangement is available.
