Responsibilities
- Manage and scale distributed systems in public, private, or hybrid cloud environments.
- Design, author, and release infrastructure code using languages such as Go, Java, or Python.
- Automate manual operations and iteratively improve operational processes.
- Deploy, support, and monitor services, platforms, and application stacks.
- Perform scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot Linux systems, networking, and infrastructure across globally distributed data centers.
- Manage configuration, provisioning, software deployment, logging, and monitoring tools.
Requirements
- Experience managing and scaling distributed systems in a public, private, or hybrid cloud environment.
- Ability to design, author, and release code in Go, Java, Python, or comparable languages.
- Understanding of Linux, standard networking protocols, and related components.
- Experience deploying, supporting, and monitoring services, platforms, and application stacks.
- Experience with scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- In-depth experience as an SRE, platform engineer, infrastructure software engineer, or in an equivalent role.
- Strong ownership, integrity, communication, collaboration, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: experience managing large numbers of systems with Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Spinnaker, or similar configuration-management and software-delivery platforms.
- Preferred: familiarity with microservices architecture and Kubernetes container orchestration.
