Responsibilities

  • Manage configuration changes and production updates across trading, disaster recovery, and certification platforms.
  • Respond to production incidents, perform triage and root cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with distributed engineering and operations teams.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot technical issues, optimize performance, and maintain high availability of low-latency trading platforms.
  • Operate bare-metal infrastructure, including hardware health, Linux operating system tuning, and Solarflare/Onload kernel-bypass networking.
  • Investigate software defects and assist build teams with build and deployment issues.
  • Create operational reports and analyze order-entry, market-data, and matching-engine logs using SQL queries.
  • Support capacity planning for Cboe exchanges and business units.
  • Develop, test, and maintain Python tools for task and system-health automation.
  • Participate in weekend testing and follow-the-sun on-call technical support.
  • Provide precise technical communication to stakeholders across time zones, cultures, and technical disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience or expertise in technical operations, UNIX shell, software engineering, systems administration, network administration, or database administration.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Python, C++, or another programming language.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no direct supervision.
  • Familiarity with European markets and US equities, options, and/or futures market structures is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes is desirable.
  • Experience with low-latency trading platforms, Linux tuning, and Solarflare/Onload is relevant to the role.
