Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, and integration components.
- Build secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
- Develop and support RESTful APIs, service-to-service integrations, and data exchange patterns.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, engineering, data engineering, and data science teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, testing, and release activities.
- Apply secure coding, logging, monitoring, and operational readiness practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve reliability and supportability.
- Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering process improvements.
- Follow technology, security, privacy, and compliance standards.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience building backend services, APIs, or integration solutions.
- Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or a similar modern programming language.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with service-based or microservices-style architectures.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, including design, coding, testing, code review, CI/CD, and production support.
- Experience with SQL and relational or analytical data stores.
- Familiarity with Git, Unix/Linux environments, shell scripting, and automated build and deployment pipelines.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of secure coding, authentication and authorization patterns, data protection, and operational controls.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred: experience with Java/Spring Boot, API gateways, integration platforms, event-driven patterns, messaging, or batch and streaming integrations.
- Preferred: familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Hive/Impala, object storage, or related data ecosystems.
- Preferred: familiarity with TypeScript and React for understanding UI integration points.
- Preferred: exposure to AI/ML-enabled platforms, model integration patterns, data-driven applications, observability tools, and production support practices.
