AI Engineer, Assistant Vice President
State StreetResponsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy production AI and machine learning solutions.
- Develop LLM-based applications using prompt engineering and inference workflows.
- Build RAG pipelines with structured and unstructured enterprise data.
- Implement embeddings, semantic search, vector-based retrieval, and agent-based AI workflows.
- Build and maintain enterprise AI services and APIs.
- Implement MLOps and LLMOps practices for deployment, versioning, monitoring, evaluation, logging, and rollback.
- Optimize AI systems for latency, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Integrate AI solutions with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, enterprise data platforms, and APIs.
- Ensure data readiness through quality, access, and transformation processes.
- Implement controls for data privacy, security, model reliability, explainability, validation, and hallucination mitigation.
- Translate business problems into deployable AI use cases such as intelligent document processing, AI copilots, and data-driven insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field is required.
- Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- 8–10 years of related experience, including at least 3 years in AI, machine learning, or Generative AI.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience building production-grade AI/ML systems.
- Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector search, retrieval systems, and agent-based AI workflows.
- Experience with microservices, API-based architectures, AI platforms, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps/LLMOps.
- Understanding of data engineering concepts, distributed systems, and enterprise data integration.
- Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments and translating business needs into practical AI solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience in financial services or capital markets, familiarity with Databricks or Snowflake, experience building AI copilots or document intelligence solutions, and exposure to AI governance or model risk frameworks are preferred.
