AI Engineer, Assistant Vice President
State StreetResponsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy production AI and machine learning solutions.
- Develop LLM-based applications using prompt engineering and inference workflows.
- Build RAG pipelines with structured and unstructured enterprise data, embeddings, semantic search, and vector-based retrieval.
- Develop agent-based and multi-step AI workflows.
- Build and maintain enterprise AI services and APIs.
- Implement model deployment, versioning, monitoring, evaluation, logging, and rollback practices.
- Optimize AI systems for performance, scalability, latency, and cost efficiency.
- Integrate AI solutions with Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, enterprise data platforms, and APIs.
- Support data quality, access, transformation, and AI-driven data pipelines.
- Implement controls for privacy, security, model reliability, validation, explainability, hallucination mitigation, compliance, and auditability.
- Translate business problems into deployable AI solutions, including document processing, AI copilots, and data-driven insights.
- Partner with business, data, and platform teams in a regulated enterprise environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical course of study is required.
- A master's degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 8–10 years of related experience, including 3 or more years in AI, machine learning, or generative AI.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience building production-grade AI/ML systems.
- Experience with microservices and API-based architectures.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector search, retrieval systems, and agent-based AI workflows.
- Experience with Databricks, Azure AI, or AWS AI services and knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps deployment and monitoring.
- Understanding of data engineering concepts, distributed systems, enterprise data platforms, and APIs.
- Experience translating business needs into practical AI solutions in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience in financial services or capital markets, AI copilots, document intelligence, AI governance, or model risk frameworks is preferred.
