Responsibilities
- Define and drive QA strategy, test plans, automation standards, and testing methodologies.
- Manage QA team workload, mentoring, performance reviews, leaves, resourcing, evaluations, conflict resolution, and recognition.
- Develop, review, and maintain UI and API automation scripts and frameworks.
- Monitor automation coverage, utilization, QA metrics, test results, risks, blockers, and release-quality status.
- Coordinate with Development, Product, DevOps, and environment teams on delivery, test readiness, QA environments, and automation integration.
- Review requirements for testability and quality risks, approve test cases and defect reports, and facilitate test-case reviews.
- Represent QA in project meetings, sprint ceremonies, release discussions, and stakeholder communications.
- Champion AI-augmented testing, including AI-assisted test generation, self-healing scripts, intelligent test prioritization, and defect analysis.
- Ensure QA process compliance, documentation, continuous improvement, and responsible use of AI coding and testing assistants.
- Perform or oversee basic performance testing, security checks, troubleshooting, and test automation execution.
Requirements
- 10–13 years of software testing experience, including at least three years in a QA lead role managing people and providing technical guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a relevant area, or equivalent experience.
- Strong UI and API automation testing experience using Selenium or Playwright with Java.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, automation framework design, software testing methodologies, and manual and automated testing practices.
- Experience managing QA teams, including workload management, mentoring, performance reviews, and professional development.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automation scripts and frameworks.
- Proficiency with Git, JIRA, and QTest or equivalent tools.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and in triggering, monitoring, and troubleshooting automated test runs in CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to analyze complex systems, identify risks, define mitigations, troubleshoot issues, and manage multiple priorities.
- Working knowledge of AI/GenAI applications across the SDLC, particularly test design, automation maintenance, and defect analysis, including associated risks.
- Understanding of basic performance testing such as JMeter and awareness of OWASP standards and security checks.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, documentation, organization, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
