Responsibilities

  • Understand client needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.
  • Break down ambiguous, high-stakes problems into solvable components.
  • Design workflows, define data models, configure integrations, and help define customer-aligned tooling.
  • Train users, iterate on workflows in real time, and support adoption of Planet solutions.
  • Translate operational requirements into actionable feedback for Planet’s product and engineering teams.
  • Communicate technical capabilities to customers in clear, mission-focused language.
  • Rapidly prototype, test, and adjust workflows for real operational needs.
  • Collaborate with customer teams to understand workflows, pain points, and mission priorities.
  • Support implementation, integration, analysis, and delivery of software and data products for Defense and Intelligence customers.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience supporting Defense and Intelligence customers, including specialized technical experience in systems integration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Fluency in Golang, Python, PostgreSQL, and React or related technologies.
  • Experience with cloud deployments using GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience scaling and maintaining production systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, systems thinking, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to learn new technical domains and tools quickly and translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred experience with Asia Pacific defense and intelligence organizations and multi-domain or multi-level security architectures.
  • Preferred knowledge of JavaScript mapping libraries, Google Earth Engine, RDBMS, distributed databases, geospatial technologies, GEOINT, imagery analysis, and analytical products built from complex datasets.
