Responsibilities
- Understand client needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.
- Break down ambiguous, high-stakes problems into solvable components.
- Design workflows, define data models, configure integrations, and help define mission-aligned tooling.
- Train users, iterate on workflows, and help make Planet solutions mission-critical to daily operations.
- Translate operational requirements into actionable feedback for Planet engineering teams.
- Communicate technical capabilities to customers in clear, mission-focused language.
- Rapidly prototype, test, and adjust workflows for operational needs.
- Collaborate with customer teams and decision makers to understand workflows, pain points, and mission priorities.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience supporting Defense and Intelligence customers, including specialized systems integration experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software, Systems Engineering, or a similar field.
- Fluency in Golang, Python, PostgreSQL, and React or related technologies.
- Experience with cloud deployments using GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Experience scaling and maintaining production systems.
- Strong problem-solving, systems thinking, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to learn new technical domains and tools and translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred experience with Asia-Pacific defense and intelligence organizations, multi-domain or multi-level security architectures, JavaScript mapping libraries, Google Earth Engine, relational and distributed databases, data science, geospatial data, GEOINT, imagery exploitation, and analytical products.
- Fluency in multiple languages is preferred.
