Responsibilities
- Architect, optimize, and develop Python-based applications and APIs using FastAPI, Flask, asynchronous programming, and event-based architectures.
- Architect and optimize relational and vector databases, including schema design, normalization, indexing, replicas, sharding, transactions, and migrations.
- Research and review AI-driven enterprise platforms involving retrieval-augmented generation, LLM fine-tuning, model optimization, AI governance, and safety guardrails.
- Develop scalable data processing, retrieval, caching, queue-based, and event-driven systems using cloud services and supporting infrastructure.
- Define technical documentation and architectural guidelines, conduct design reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure code maintainability and scalability.
- Drive AI security, compliance, governance, tool adoption, and alignment of AI strategies with business and technical requirements.
- Build or support AI capabilities including model-provider integrations, function calling, structured outputs, conversational memory, prompt engineering, and agentic orchestration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial AI applications, investment-related AI, and financial data analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or foreign equivalent, plus 5 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a master's degree or foreign equivalent plus 3 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant experience may be as a Software Engineer, Application Development Associate, or in a related position, with suitable combinations of education, training, and experience accepted.
- Experience with database engineering using SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including design, normalization, optimization, sharding, ACID transactions, and migrations.
- Production Python development, API development, object-oriented programming in Python or Java, design patterns, and UML architecture.
- Experience with QlikView, Pandas, Plotly, and Matplotlib for data processing, visualization, and analysis.
- Experience with AWS services, application deployment and monitoring tools, Git, and CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of machine learning and statistical methods, NLP, embeddings, vector databases, GraphQL-based querying, and AI-powered retrieval.
- Experience with SQS, Celery, Redis, event-driven architectures, caching, and scalable request handling.
- Knowledge of OpenAI, Anthropic, MistralAI, retrieval-augmented generation, function calling, structured outputs, and conversational memory.
- Experience with prompt engineering, LangGraph or AutoGen, feature flagging tools such as Split or CloudBees, and LLM safety concepts including Transformers, attention mechanisms, fine-tuning, and hallucination mitigation.
- Contributions to Python open-source projects or packages and experience with financial AI, investment-related AI, or financial data analysis.
- Must possess unrestricted right to work in the United States.
