Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior hands-on engineer contributing to application design, coding, code review, modernization, and delivery.
- Develop and enhance full-stack solutions using Java, SQL, and Angular.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate software design, development, testing, and delivery.
- Own target-state public-cloud architecture, including infrastructure, application hosting, scaling, resiliency, and operational support models.
- Define and implement cloud-native components and platform services to modernize applications and improve reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
- Lead cloud sizing, scaling, capacity planning, and performance optimization decisions.
- Establish and refine CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, environment management, and release controls.
- Drive DevOps practices covering build, deployment, release automation, monitoring, incident readiness, and continuous improvement.
- Improve platform observability through metrics, logging, alerting, and health monitoring.
- Champion fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and high-availability design.
- Partner with cloud providers and internal engineering, infrastructure, security, governance, production support, and platform teams.
- Provide technical leadership and accountability for platform delivery, evolution, and operational readiness.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 12+ years of experience in systems analysis and program development, with related supervisory, management, and administrative experience.
- Extensive hands-on full-stack software engineering experience with strong expertise in Java, SQL, and Angular.
- Deep knowledge of cloud-hosted solutions and experience architecting, deploying, and supporting enterprise-scale services in one or more major public-cloud environments.
- Strong experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, observability, and production support models.
- Experience modernizing existing applications using cloud-native or cloud-aligned services and platform components.
- Ability to work directly with cloud vendors and enterprise teams across architecture, security, connectivity, governance, and service operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience in securities or financial services is a plus.
- Experience supporting or transforming financial services or other highly regulated enterprise platforms is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development practices and tools is preferred.
- Experience with hybrid connectivity, cloud security controls, and highly available distributed systems is preferred.
- Experience leading platform engineering or large-scale engineering transformation initiatives is preferred.
