Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs and backend services deployed on AWS.
- Build React interfaces with reusable components, hooks, state management, and form validation.
- Design frontend-consumable API contracts with pagination and consistent error handling.
- Implement resilient integrations using queues, retries, dead-letter queues, idempotency, monitoring, and notifications.
- Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth2, JWT, and token-renewal strategies.
- Securely manage secrets, credentials, and files using specialized AWS services.
- Protect APIs and applications with AWS WAF and rate limiting.
- Address security findings and vulnerabilities within project timelines.
- Participate in CI/CD processes, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate in a Scrum team using Jira and Confluence.
- Analyze technical needs and propose solutions, architectures, and proofs of concept.
- Collaborate with technical partners to ensure solution quality, security, scalability, and maintainability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer, Backend Developer, or Software Engineer.
- Senior-level experience building applications with React, including components, hooks, state management, forms, and validation.
- Strong backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript, ideally using NestJS or Express.
- Strong experience with .NET, Java, or Python may also be considered when paired with relevant frontend and AWS experience.
- Practical production experience with AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, Amazon SQS, Amazon S3, AWS Secrets Manager, and Amazon ECS/Fargate.
- Experience selecting serverless, containerized, or managed services based on solution needs.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
- Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of application and API security, OAuth2, JWT, retries, queues, dead-letter queues, and idempotency.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or commitment to obtain it.
- Intermediate English for technical documentation and communication with international teams.
- Current residence in Mexico and availability for fully remote work.
- Preferred experience with Next.js, GraphQL, Terraform, AWS CDK, OpenTofu, financial or regulated environments, AWS Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect certification, and AI tools applied to software development.
