Base Salary

$114k - $150k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define automation strategy and build scalable frameworks for web, mobile, API, and end-to-end testing.
  • Expand automated regression coverage and improve test execution speed, reliability, maintainability, and effectiveness.
  • Integrate automated testing, quality gates, release validation, and quality metrics into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop reusable tools for regression testing, test data management, quality reporting, defect triage, release readiness, deployment validation, and production verification.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to improve requirements, acceptance criteria, application testability, observability, and shift-left quality practices.
  • Perform targeted exploratory and manual testing for new functionality, editorial workflows, user experience, accessibility, and high-risk releases.
  • Review architecture, source code, pull requests, APIs, logs, and deployment changes to identify quality risks.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools for automation development, test generation, defect analysis, documentation, and reporting.
  • Maintain test coverage and test case information in test management systems.
  • Create dashboards and metrics for automation coverage, release health, defect trends, escaped defects, and engineering quality.
  • Support production deployments by validating user journeys, monitoring application health, analyzing issues, and helping resolve customer-impacting defects.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on Quality Engineering experience supporting modern web, mobile, API, and connected TV applications.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks using Playwright, Appium, Selenium, Cypress, or comparable technologies.
  • Strong programming skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar automation languages.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
  • Understanding of source control, branching strategies, release management, and continuous integration.
  • Expertise in risk-based testing, quality strategy, defect triage, release readiness, and production validation.
  • Ability to analyze frontend and backend code, API responses, logs, and network traffic.
  • Experience with Chrome DevTools and proxy tools such as Charles Proxy or mitmproxy.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or comparable technologies.
  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol concepts and AI agent integrations for engineering workflows.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, containerized environments, and modern application architectures.
  • Understanding of observability, monitoring, analytics, and production health metrics related to software quality.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across Engineering, Product, DevOps, and Technical Program Management.
  • Preferred experience includes digital media, news, streaming, or high-scale consumer technology environments; CMS, video playback, advertising technology, authentication, analytics, or personalization testing; AI-driven testing; accessibility, performance, security, or resiliency testing; Nuxt, Vue, Prisma, or comparable technologies; and Quality Engineering practice improvements.
