Base Salary
$79k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable, resilient components for distributed systems.
- Deliver features and load/performance tests for high-volume retrieval, storage, and processing platforms.
- Build redundancy, replication, automatic failover, retries, circuit breakers, timeouts, and other fault-tolerant paths.
- Detect and mitigate issues using tests, alarms, dashboards, and telemetry.
- Author runbooks and participate in incident response and root-cause analyses.
- Implement replication and synchronization, plus Infrastructure as Code automation for troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Design, troubleshoot, and maintain high-throughput networking infrastructure.
- Apply encryption, access controls, remediation, compliance, change-management, and documentation standards.
- Review peer implementations for scalability compliance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of a base programming language such as Java; Scala or another functional programming language is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, and network architectures.
- Experience designing, troubleshooting, and maintaining networking infrastructure for high-throughput use cases.
- Strong understanding of databases, storage, and distributed-persistence technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance-tuning skills.
- Strong knowledge and interest in AI adoption, prompt engineering, and agentic programming.
- Experience with ChatGPT and Codex is a plus.
- Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.
