Base Salary
$120k - $140k/yr
Responsibilities
- Administer GitHub organizations, teams, repositories, branch protection rules, permissions, governance policies, and least-privilege access controls.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, self-hosted runners, secrets handling, and environment protection rules.
- Manage GitHub security capabilities including secret scanning, CodeQL code scanning, Dependabot, and audit log monitoring.
- Automate GitHub administration and operational workflows using scripting, the GitHub API, and the GitHub CLI.
- Monitor GitHub platform availability and performance against SLOs, tune alerting, respond to incidents, troubleshoot pipelines, and contribute to blameless postmortems.
- Integrate GitHub with identity providers and adjacent project-management and security-scanning tools, and support migrations from other version-control systems.
- Support GitHub Copilot rollout for development teams, advise developers on GitHub usage and branching strategies, and maintain documentation, runbooks, and onboarding guides.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 4+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience administering GitHub Enterprise Cloud or Server, including organization and permission management.
- Strong knowledge of GitHub Actions, including workflow design, secrets handling, and runner management.
- Experience with GitHub security features such as secret scanning, Dependabot, and code scanning.
- Proficiency scripting against the GitHub API and CLI using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Working knowledge of SRE fundamentals including SLOs, SLIs, incident management, and postmortems.
- Experience with Docker and at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Experience supporting federal government clients or contracts is preferred.
- GitHub certifications such as GitHub Actions or GitHub Administration are preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust or Security Clearance.
- GitHub Copilot certification-level skills, including prompt-engineering best practices and Copilot troubleshooting experience.
