Responsibilities
- Respond as a primary or escalation responder in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Lead or support major incident triage, mitigation, resolution, and post-incident corrective actions.
- Coordinate incident response across Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Product teams.
- Maintain runbooks, playbooks, escalation paths, and blameless post-incident reviews.
- Own service health monitoring and design alerting aligned with SLIs and SLOs.
- Build observability dashboards and reduce alert fatigue through signal-to-noise improvements.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks and develop self-healing or auto-remediation capabilities.
- Develop scripts and tools to support NOC and SRE workflows and improve MTTD and MTTR.
- Support and troubleshoot Linux systems, cloud platforms, and Kubernetes or containerized environments.
- Assist with capacity planning, availability reviews, and operational readiness for production releases.
Requirements
- Strong Linux systems administration skills and experience with incident management and production support.
- Experience working in 24x7 NOC or production operations environments.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring or alerting platforms.
- Scripting or programming experience with Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancing.
- Ability to handle high-pressure incidents and communicate effectively during incident coordination.
- Comfort working from runbooks while improving them when necessary.
- Preferred experience defining or operating to SLOs and SLIs, migrating from a traditional NOC to an SRE model, using Terraform or Ansible, and working in security, compliance, or regulated environments.
