Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services according to coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate on service architecture with emphasis on scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
- Create RESTful APIs and integrate external services while maintaining data consistency.
- Design data models, optimize access patterns, and implement caching strategies across SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Build and maintain asynchronous job-processing pipelines using message queues.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in services, code, and infrastructure.
- Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
- Investigate and resolve production issues to maintain system availability.
- Mentor junior team members and technically lead planning and execution of work.
- Integrate LLM/GenAI services, including prompt engineering, tools, agents, and validation of generated outputs before production execution.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a backend developer focused on services development.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language and ecosystem, such as Java, Node.js, or Python, with the ability to ramp up quickly on unfamiliar technologies.
- Strong understanding of service architecture principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in RESTful API design and development.
- Strong RDBMS querying and performance-tuning skills, including indexing, shard-key design, query execution plans, and connection-pool management.
- Experience with SQL databases such as SingleStore and MySQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, including data modeling and caching with technologies such as Redis.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM/GenAI services, including prompt engineering, tools, agents, and validation of generated outputs.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools.
- Experience with a public cloud platform.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, collaboration, and independent execution skills.
- Ability to technically lead and mentor junior engineers and drive planning and execution in a fast-paced environment.
