Base Salary
$157k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship production AI/ML features across data preparation, training or fine-tuning, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Develop GenAI systems using RAG pipelines, LLM APIs, open-source models, prompt design, and agentic workflows.
- Build data pipelines, labeling workflows, and rigorous model evaluation infrastructure.
- Apply AI to manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and physical operations, including computer vision, predictive maintenance, demand forecasting, inventory planning, and supplier risk.
- Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into measurable AI systems.
- Write production-quality code, run experiments, and own features end-to-end based on production feedback.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
- MS or PhD in a relevant field is preferred, with a PhD considered a strong signal for early-career candidates.
- Candidates without a PhD should have 5+ years of professional or research experience working directly on ML systems.
- Understanding of model training, loss functions, evaluation metrics, overfitting, and regularization.
- Practical experience with supervised learning, NLP, computer vision, and time-series modeling.
- Experience building end-to-end ML projects, theses, or production systems and evaluating model quality rigorously.
- Familiarity with LLM APIs, RAG, embeddings, retrieval systems, version control, experiment tracking, cloud platforms, and basic MLOps practices.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with PyTorch or JAX, Hugging Face, pandas, and scikit-learn.
- Preferred background or interest in manufacturing, robotics, industrial data, logistics, operations research, sensor data, real-time systems, simulation environments, or physical hardware.
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines, explain technical decisions clearly, and work directly with stakeholders without relying on a product manager.
