Base Salary
$117k - $158k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, optimize, and grow innovation and AI solutions for legal practice and enterprise use cases.
- Design data ingestion, transformation, integration, metadata, dependency, and workflow processes across complex data sources.
- Automate manual work, improve data delivery, and build integration infrastructure across applications and platforms.
- Apply analytics, statistics, NLP, machine learning, feature engineering, and data preparation techniques to generate business and legal practice insights.
- Develop and integrate applications using large language models, embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Deploy and troubleshoot Azure cloud resources and support secure cloud operations across applications, platforms, and infrastructure layers.
- Collaborate with management, attorneys, staff, application engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate operational needs into practical solutions.
- Use version control and maintain technical documentation for code and end-to-end processes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a Data Engineer, DataOps, or DevOps role.
- Bachelor’s and/or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.
- Strong software development skills and experience building complete solutions from data ingestion and transformation through deployed applications.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and related Microsoft data management and integration technologies.
- Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, advanced query authoring, stored procedures, database management, ETL, and API integration.
- Experience with Azure cloud resources, infrastructure troubleshooting, secure cloud operations, RBAC, secrets management, and network roles.
- Experience with AI/ML data preparation, feature engineering, data preprocessing, dataset versioning, bias detection, and mitigation.
- Experience integrating LLMs and AI models into applications, including embeddings, vector databases, semantic search, and RAG.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, build agents, environment promotion, and release safety.
- Proficiency or experience with Python, R, JavaScript, SQL, Git, Azure DevOps, and technical documentation using Markdown.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle confidential information and work independently.
- Preferred qualifications include AI/ML data preparation certification or equivalent coursework, legal technology platform experience, knowledge of legal workflows, and familiarity with GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA as applied to AI systems.

- The anticipated base pay is $116,875–$158,125 per year in Palo Alto, New York, and San Francisco, or $105,400–$142,600 per year in other listed locations.
