Responsibilities
- Complete the next platform rollout while maintaining the current production platform.
- Move acquired sites onto a common build and release path.
- Design, build, and operate scalable infrastructure on GCP using Terraform.
- Own networking and IAM design, including VPCs, Traefik ingress, and encryption.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and self-service developer tooling.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, and vulnerability remediation.
- Define platform standards, architecture decisions, and the route from prototype to production.
- Manage and develop one infrastructure engineer, hire additional team members, and shape the platform roadmap.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a platform, cloud, or infrastructure engineer, including senior or lead engineering responsibility.
- Deep hands-on GCP experience, including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.
- Strong Terraform and production infrastructure-as-code experience.
- Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions.
- Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience, including cluster networking and ingress.
- Programming or scripting ability in Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with observability tooling and leading incident response.
- Experience mentoring engineers and interest in line management.
- Clear written and spoken English and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-engineers.
- TypeScript or JavaScript, ArgoCD or other GitOps experience, regulated-industry experience, acquisition or migration experience, and platform-team growth experience are preferred.
