Responsibilities
- Own frontend quality, consistency, and visual craft across the Stripe Dashboard’s highest-traffic logged-in pages.
- Identify and execute improvements to Dashboard consistency, performance, and polish.
- Partner with Design and Product as the technical voice on frontend feasibility, quality standards, and implementation approach.
- Contribute to and advocate for Stripe’s design system and shared components.
- Establish frontend quality standards, code review practices, and implementation guidance for junior engineers.
- Prototype and explore AI-powered experiences for merchant product discovery and interaction.
- Collaborate with backend engineers on integration points while maintaining a primary focus on frontend craft.
- Mentor early-career engineers and raise the team-wide quality bar.
Requirements
- Typically 10+ years of experience building and shipping complex, user-facing web applications at large scale.
- Deep expertise in modern frontend development with strong UI quality and visual precision.
- Track record of improving UI consistency and polish across large, distributed products.
- Experience partnering with Design teams to translate design intent into high-quality production implementations.
- Demonstrated ability to work across large codebases and bring coherence to high-traffic product surfaces.
- Advanced proficiency with React, including interactions, animation, performance, and refinement.
- Experience with or interest in frontend performance engineering, AI-powered features, mentoring, A/B testing, synthetic monitoring, or accessibility testing is preferred.
