Responsibilities

  • Lead design discussions covering APIs, databases, caching layers, messaging, resilience, and observability.
  • Design end-to-end architecture for financial services applications in collaboration with product owners and technical teams.
  • Analyze architectural trade-offs and propose scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
  • Lead AWS engineering efforts and evaluate new software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts.
  • Develop strategies and architecture for cloud data lakes and real-time or near-real-time data ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Design cloud-native applications using AWS services, serverless workflows, declarative coding, event-driven architectures, streaming, and containers.
  • Incorporate security and DevSecOps principles into application architecture.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, reusable best practices, and knowledge-transfer materials.
  • Mentor junior engineers and align technical decisions with organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including 3+ years in system or application design.
  • Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS, including event-driven and streaming architectures and EKS/ECS containers.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects and explaining complex technical decisions.
  • Ability to support off-hours incident response when needed.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting architecture reviews, presenting design proposals, and developing hands-on proof-of-concepts is preferred.
  • Finance-domain business process automation experience is preferred.
