Responsibilities

Lead design discussions covering APIs, databases, caching, messaging, resilience, and observability.
Design end-to-end architecture for applications across the financial services portfolio.
Analyze trade-offs and propose scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions aligned with business goals.
Evaluate and introduce software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts.
Lead engineering efforts for AWS solutions and stay current with related technologies.
Develop strategies and architecture for cloud-based data lakes and real-time or near-real-time data ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting.
Design cloud-native applications using AWS services, serverless workflows, and computing solutions.
Incorporate security and DevSecOps principles into application architecture.
Maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, reusable design decisions, and best practices.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical decisions.
Support off-hours incident response when needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including 3+ years in system or application design.
Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably on AWS.
Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures, containers, and EKS or ECS.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical decisions.
AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is strongly preferred.
Experience conducting architecture reviews, presenting design proposals, and developing hands-on proof-of-concepts is a bonus.
Finance-domain business process automation experience is a bonus.
Must have authorization to work in the United States without current or future Toyota immigration support or sponsorship.
