Responsibilities

  • Lead system and application architecture discussions covering APIs, databases, caching layers, messaging, resilience, and observability.
  • Design end-to-end architecture for financial services applications in collaboration with product owners and technical teams.
  • Analyze architectural trade-offs and propose scalable, maintainable, secure solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Evaluate and introduce software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts.
  • Lead AWS solution engineering and design cloud-native applications using modern architecture practices.
  • Develop strategies and best practices for cloud-based data lake, ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting frameworks.
  • Incorporate security and DevSecOps principles into application architecture.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and reusable best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional alignment of technical decisions.
  • Support off-hours incident response when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including 3+ years in system or application design.
  • Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
  • Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably using AWS.
  • Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures, containers, EKS, and ECS.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical decisions.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting architecture reviews, presenting design proposals, and delivering hands-on proof-of-concepts is preferred.
  • Finance-domain business process automation experience is preferred.
  • Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future Toyota immigration support or sponsorship.
