Responsibilities
- Lead system and application architecture discussions covering APIs, databases, caching layers, messaging, resilience, and observability.
- Design end-to-end architecture for financial services applications in collaboration with product owners and technical teams.
- Analyze architectural trade-offs and propose scalable, maintainable, secure solutions aligned with business goals.
- Evaluate and introduce software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proof-of-concepts.
- Lead AWS solution engineering and design cloud-native applications using modern architecture practices.
- Develop strategies and best practices for cloud-based data lake, ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting frameworks.
- Incorporate security and DevSecOps principles into application architecture.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and reusable best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional alignment of technical decisions.
- Support off-hours incident response when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including 3+ years in system or application design.
- Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably using AWS.
- Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures, containers, EKS, and ECS.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical decisions.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience conducting architecture reviews, presenting design proposals, and delivering hands-on proof-of-concepts is preferred.
- Finance-domain business process automation experience is preferred.
- Must have the right to work in the United States without current or future Toyota immigration support or sponsorship.
