Responsibilities
- Lead design discussions covering APIs, databases, caching, messaging, resilience, and observability.
- Design end-to-end, scalable, maintainable, and secure architectures for financial services applications.
- Lead AWS engineering efforts and design cloud-native applications using modern architecture practices.
- Develop strategies and architectures for cloud-based data lakes, real-time and near-real-time ingestion, processing, monitoring, and reporting.
- Evaluate software patterns, tools, and frameworks through proofs of concept.
- Incorporate security and DevSecOps principles into application architecture.
- Create technical documentation, architectural diagrams, reusable best practices, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Mentor junior engineers and align technical decisions with product owners, technical teams, and business priorities.
- Support off-hours incident response when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including 3+ years in system or application design.
- Strong foundation in Spring Boot, Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
- Experience designing and deploying large-scale, multi-region cloud-native solutions, preferably with AWS.
- Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures and containers such as EKS and ECS.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software development methodologies.
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience conducting architecture reviews, presenting design proposals, and developing hands-on proofs of concept is preferred.
- Finance-domain business process automation experience is preferred.
