Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Lead adoption, governance, and validation standards for approved AI-assisted engineering practices and tools.
- Use Software Development Life Cycle tooling and automation to improve delivery and operational outcomes.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for enterprise engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.
- Mentor and support team members through leadership and one-to-ones.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and implement creative software solutions.
- Identify and automate recurring remediation opportunities to improve application and system stability.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, including validation of AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant AI usage patterns and controls.
- Development experience with Python, AWS EKS, and AWS ECS.
- Formal cloud training or certification and applied experience.
- Advanced programming experience with technologies such as Java or Terraform.
- Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery methods, and the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Preferred experience with Django, LocalStack, and JavaScript.
