Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and ship Android features using Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Coroutines, and modern Android architecture patterns
- Develop and optimize video/audio pipelines, real-time media effects, and AI-powered visual features on Android
- Create immersive custom UI experiences using Compose animations, custom drawing, and motion design
- Optimize performance using deep knowledge of Android memory management, rendering, Choreographer, and RenderThread
- Architect and maintain clean MVVM structures across UI, domain, and data layers
- Set up and manage dependency injection with Koin or Hilt
- Participate in architecture discussions and uphold code quality, testability, and maintainability standards
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA teams to deliver polished, scalable experiences
- Own features within a small, fast-moving team serving a large user base
Requirements
- 8+ years of Android application development experience or equivalent
- Expertise in Kotlin, including idiomatic usage, coroutines, Flow, and advanced language features
- Deep Jetpack Compose expertise, including custom layouts, state management, animation APIs, and performance profiling
- Strong command of MVVM and Android architecture components including ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow, Room, Navigation, and WorkManager
- Production experience with Koin or Hilt for dependency injection
- Strong understanding of Android internals including the View system, RenderThread, Choreographer, garbage collection, and battery/memory profiling
- Experience with ExoPlayer, MediaCodec, Camera2/CameraX, and real-time media effects
- Ability to write readable, maintainable, documented, and well-tested code
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and proficiency with Git
- Strong attention to visual detail, motion, and animation
- Experience with AI-driven media features, real-time video/audio effects, or WebRTC on Android is a bonus
