Responsibilities

  • Own architecture decisions and define repository, service, facade, DTO, and bridge contracts across Kotlin, platform-specific code, and the VueJS/TypeScript UI layer.
  • Design, implement, and maintain shared Kotlin Multiplatform modules for retail POS business capabilities across JVM/Desktop and Android.
  • Implement platform-specific desktop and Android integrations using expect/actual patterns while keeping shared business logic platform-independent.
  • Build offline-first flows with local persistence, caching, synchronization readiness, and explicit failure handling.
  • Write clean, maintainable, performant code; participate in reviews and refactor existing modules.
  • Create automated unit and integration tests for domain rules, use cases, repositories, bridge contracts, and coroutine-based flows.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA, product owners, and architects on contracts, requirements, and delivery.
  • Mentor less experienced Kotlin developers and share modern KMP and architectural knowledge.
  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and technical decisions while supporting team alignment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Kotlin experience, including platform-scale KMP architecture decision-making.
  • Strong system-level Android experience beyond application-level development.
  • Hands-on Kotlin Multiplatform delivery to at least two targets, preferably Android and JVM/Desktop, plus KMP-Swift/iOS interoperability knowledge.
  • Experience with Java-to-Kotlin/KMP migration at platform scale.
  • Architectural leadership, technical vision, and the ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Experience designing modular, multi-tenant or multi-customer product platforms with customer-specific extension points.
  • Ability to train and mentor engineers in KMP patterns and architectural thinking.
  • Strong senior-stakeholder communication and ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly.
  • Solid understanding of Clean Architecture, dependency inversion, repository abstractions, domain layers, use-case layers, infrastructure layers, and platform layers.
  • Practical experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, including structured concurrency, suspend APIs, state and events, cancellation, and error propagation.
  • Experience with offline-first or local-first client architecture, including persistence, caching, synchronization, and conflict handling.
  • Familiarity with dependency injection patterns, preferably Koin.
  • Strong testing discipline using Kotlin Test or an equivalent, test doubles, and coroutine testing utilities.
  • Experience integrating REST/OpenAPI-style services, typed DTO mapping, serialization, and resilient client communication.
  • Comfort with Gradle Kotlin DSL, modular builds, and CI-friendly project structures.
  • Effective collaboration with frontend developers, QA, and product stakeholders.
  • Compose Multiplatform experience is a plus.
  • POS or retail embedded-systems experience, including checkout, payment terminals, scale integration, or ESL, is a plus.
  • Desktop JVM client experience, including Electron sidecar or local-service integration patterns, is a plus.
  • Understanding of VueJS 3 and TypeScript for Kotlin-to-UI bridge contract collaboration is a plus.
  • Experience with plugin or extensibility architecture, including extension points, lifecycle management, and isolation, is a plus.
  • Performance engineering experience for latency-sensitive client operations is a plus.
  • POS, retail, payment, promotion, or hardware-peripheral integration experience is a plus.

Benefits

  • Medical benefits, gym support, personalized fitness options, team events, and a Healthy Habits Club.
  • Work-life flexibility through an individualized work-life fusion approach.
  • Mental and emotional wellbeing support.
  • Social wellbeing initiatives in a hybrid work environment.
