Base Salary

$140k - $150k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the path from research outputs to production-ready detections, distributed feeds, scoring inputs, and customer alerts.
  • Build and maintain threat-intelligence platform components including distribution servers, sandbox orchestration, OSINT ingestion, federated sharing endpoints, agent runtimes, and rules engines.
  • Convert research into YARA, Sigma, STIX patterns, behavioral indicators, and production distribution pipelines.
  • Build correlation pipelines connecting scan data, attack-surface signals, vulnerability data, and adversary tracking.
  • Drive adoption of STIX 2.1 as a unified output schema and TAXII 2.1 as a distribution standard.
  • Automate indicator enrichment, report drafting, corpus correlation, feed normalization, sandbox triage, retrieval, schema-constrained generation, evaluation, logging, and workflow cost and latency controls.
  • Coordinate with engineering, measurement, and platform product teams to deliver research into products and communicate technical work to customers, journalists, and executives when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience through strong public work as a self-taught practitioner.
  • 5–8 years of hands-on engineering experience with meaningful exposure to threat intelligence, security research, or detection engineering.
  • Production experience building systems that consume or emit threat-intelligence data is required.
  • Production-level Python and TypeScript/Node experience is required.
  • Experience with relational and cache data stores and at least one streaming or batch data platform is required.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, containers, and CI/CD pipelines is required.
  • Working knowledge of STIX 2.1, TAXII 2.1, MISP, and MITRE ATT&CK is required.
  • Hands-on experience with YARA, Sigma, and STIX Patterning, including writing production-ready detection logic, is required.
  • Experience shipping production language-model systems using retrieval, structured output validation, regression evaluation, and safeguards against model failures and prompt injection is required.
  • Ability to translate research ideas into deployed pipelines and collaborate across research, engineering, product, measurement, and platform teams is required.
  • Bonus qualifications include policy-as-code or expression-language experience, published security research, large-scale telemetry experience, open-source threat-intelligence contributions, familiarity with FAIR, and production-level Golang experience.
