Base Salary

$146k - $264k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Analyze system performance across virtualized and bare-metal environments.
  • Identify, design, and implement performance enhancements and new features.
  • Participate in introducing and productizing new servers and hardware.
  • Extend metrics collection and create visualizations for system performance.
  • Build tooling to identify system performance problems more quickly.
  • Debug and improve Linux kernel, operating-system, hardware, and virtualization behavior.

Requirements

  • Have 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Have extensive programming experience in C and experience with one or more of Rust, Python, Bash, or Perl.
  • Have deep knowledge of the Linux kernel, computer system architecture, and software-hardware interactions.
  • Have experience with software and hardware virtualization, including QEMU, KVM, SVM, and VHE.
  • Have experience with hardware enablement and debugging, especially board bring-up and/or GPUs.
  • Have experience with performance and debugging tools such as perf, bcc tools, and BPF.
  • Understand concurrent programming, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
  • Know common hardware interconnects including PCI Express, CXL, CCIX, and USB.
