Responsibilities

  • Own the reliability of Splunk and other observability platforms through SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and performance analysis.
  • Engineer automated remediation for observability failures, pipeline blockages, index rollover issues, and other repetitive operational problems.
  • Implement OpenTelemetry instrumentation and observability-as-code through GitOps pipelines with automated testing.
  • Develop reliability engineering practices for Terraform, CI/CD, HashiCorp Vault, ITSM, and internal developer platform tooling.
  • Monitor and improve LLMOps pipelines, model API health, prompt execution, token consumption, latency, cost anomalies, and AI alert correlation.
  • Engineer reliable agentic ITSM workflows using LangChain, LlamaIndex, and CrewAI, including recovery and human handoff mechanisms.
  • Build observability and SLOs for RAG platforms, vector databases, embedding pipelines, and index freshness.
  • Lead incident bridges, blameless post-mortems, structured root-cause analysis, error-budget reviews, and systemic preventive actions.
  • Govern prompt versioning, model evaluation, output-quality monitoring, audit logging, and data-residency controls for AI operations tooling.
  • Drive toil reduction, automated rollback, drift detection, policy-as-code reliability, and proactive capacity interventions across the tooling estate.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Splunk Enterprise Architecture and Design.
  • 15 years of full-time education.
  • Expertise in Splunk, SLI/SLO and error-budget engineering, OpenTelemetry, ELK/Splunk pipeline reliability, and observability-as-code.
  • Experience with Terraform reliability, state-backend health, drift detection, module registries, and policy-as-code pipelines across AWS and GCP.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, pipeline health monitoring, runner scaling, deployment SLOs, and automated rollback engineering.
  • Experience with HashiCorp Vault high-availability monitoring, seal/unseal automation, certificate lifecycle management, and lease renewal automation.
  • Experience with LLMOps reliability, model API monitoring, prompt execution SLOs, token and cost anomaly alerting, and AI pipeline remediation.
  • Experience with RAG platform reliability, including Pinecone, Weaviate, or ChromaDB availability, retrieval latency, embedding pipelines, and index freshness.
  • Proficiency in Python for SRE automation, event-driven remediation, infrastructure SDK integration, and operational workflow engineering.
  • Experience leading P1/P2 incidents, blameless post-mortems, structured RCA, error-budget reviews, and SLA-governed resolution.
  • Preferred qualifications include chaos engineering, game day exercises, eBPF-based observability, model-serving infrastructure, and SRE or platform engineering experience in regulated industries.
  • Relevant certifications are advantageous or expected, including Terraform, Splunk, AWS or GCP DevOps, HashiCorp Vault, Kubernetes administration, and ITIL certifications.
