- Own end-to-end architecture for Rental and Digital platforms, including backend services, APIs, frontend integrations, reservations, pricing, fleet, identity, and mobile and web experiences.
- Design and implement cloud-native architectures using microservices, serverless patterns, distributed systems, and event-driven designs.
- Define API-first principles, integration patterns, API contracts, versioning, documentation, and governance across REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs.
- Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, coding, debugging, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making across engineering teams.
- Ensure systems meet requirements for high availability, scalability, fault tolerance, security, compliance, data governance, performance, and observability.
- Guide adoption of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization, orchestration, and observability tools.
- Mentor engineers, lead development teams, influence stakeholders, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure timely delivery and process adherence.
- Evaluate tools, frameworks, technologies, and architecture patterns while aligning with Enterprise Architecture and broader technology strategy.
- Design, code, and debug products and features while owning code quality, application security, functionality, and performance.
- Analyze and resolve technical queries and manage multiple development projects through completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture; the role section also states 10–12+ years.
- Expertise in Java 8+, JDK, JVM internals, garbage collection, classloading, memory management, tuning, concurrency, and non-blocking programming.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Batch.
- Experience designing large-scale distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, distributed transactions, Saga patterns, ACID, CAP, and eventual consistency.
- Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, API governance, API versioning, Swagger/OpenAPI, OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, TLS, mTLS, OWASP, secrets management, and secure coding.
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging systems, including streaming, partitioning, and reliability patterns.
- Experience with AWS preferred, with Azure or GCP acceptable.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies, data modeling, service mesh concepts, observability, and reliability strategies.
- Experience with React and React Native integration patterns is preferred.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, Agile/Scrum, and globally distributed teams.
- Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs involving simplicity, extensibility, consistency, availability, performance, maintainability, reliability, and correctness.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, stakeholder influence, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- AI practitioner or AI-aware experience with applying AI to architecture, development, automation, or platform modernization.
