Responsibilities
- Architect and build usage-based billing and metering systems that accurately count events and support invoicing.
- Integrate product data with Stripe, cloud marketplaces, CRM tools, payment providers, and internal reporting systems.
- Own the technical roadmap and reliability of the revenue engineering backend while proactively managing risks.
- Improve usage dashboards, forecasting, cost visibility, and notification pipelines.
- Establish Go architectural patterns and engineering standards for reliability, maintainability, code quality, testing, and observability.
- Mentor engineers, review product requirements for technical feasibility, simplify complex designs, and guide the team through scaling challenges.
- Translate customer needs, usage patterns, and cost-control requirements into reliable billing infrastructure.
Requirements
- Experience with billing systems or usage-based pricing models is required; Stripe API experience is a strong plus.
- Deep architectural expertise building and scaling distributed backend systems with Go.
- Java knowledge is a useful additional qualification.
- Expertise using AI and agentic coding tools with strong technical judgment to verify and own the resulting code.
- Strong testing and data-accuracy discipline for systems involving money.
- A product mindset for polished internal tools.
- Track record of mentoring, improving team processes, fostering psychological safety, and raising engineering quality.
- Expertise in observability, OpenTelemetry, and monitoring.
