
Staff Software Engineer - Next Gen
NetDocumentsResponsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and define engineering direction, standards, and architecture for Solstice.
- Architect and build production-grade full stack applications across frontend, backend, and distributed systems.
- Design event-driven architectures using AWS services, Kafka, and modern data pipelines.
- Build responsive document management experiences, content enrichment, search capabilities, and scalable APIs.
- Integrate AI-powered services and emerging technologies into production applications.
- Improve global system performance, reliability, scalability, security, compliance, and operational observability.
- Own complex technical initiatives from initial design through deployment and ongoing evolution.
- Document system designs, architectural decisions, and technical approaches.
- Partner with Product, Design, Platform Services, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Mentor engineers and lead knowledge sharing through reviews, design discussions, documentation, and technical guidance.
- Research emerging technologies through proof-of-concepts and improve customer experience and engineering velocity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production-grade applications at scale.
- 3+ years providing technical leadership and influencing engineering direction and practices.
- Deep experience with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
- Strong backend development experience with C#/.NET or Java and TypeScript/Node.js.
- Experience designing and operating event-driven, service-oriented, and microservices architectures.
- Experience building distributed, cloud-native systems using AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, and S3.
- Experience with NoSQL technologies such as DynamoDB or DocumentDB and relational SQL databases.
- Strong experience designing GraphQL APIs, including API security and versioning strategies.
- Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming and messaging technologies.
- Experience implementing logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and telemetry for production systems.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD practices, and supporting production applications.
- Preferred experience includes document management, content services, search-driven applications, high-performance React applications, AI-powered services, B2B SaaS products in legal or regulated industries, mobile or cross-platform development, open-source contributions, technical writing, or broader technical knowledge sharing.
