Base Salary
$175k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical Mimir database systems with ownership of reliability, performance, and availability.
- Deliver projects from initial idea and requirements through feature development, release, and customer operations.
- Optimize the efficiency and resilience of processing, storing, and querying metrics at large volumes.
- Write and review pull requests and design documents, collaborate with squad members, and contribute to open-source projects.
- Shepherd automated release rollouts and participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations for owned services.
- Use production feedback, metrics, logs, traces, and customer input to iterate on products and improve operations.
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one programming language; Grafana Labs primarily uses Go, with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar experience also applicable.
- Experience developing cloud software or working in systems engineering, including experience with on-call and the DevOps model.
- Experience leading and delivering software projects from requirements and ideation through shipment to customers.
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software.
- Familiarity with observability systems, including using metrics, logs, and traces for debugging.
- Comfort with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Comfort developing with LLMs such as Claude and Codex in daily work.
- Bonus qualifications include Kubernetes, queue systems such as Kafka, Grafana or Prometheus operational use, and infrastructure-as-code familiarity.
