Responsibilities
- Develop Windows Compatibility tools, automation frameworks, and infrastructure to identify regressions and improve compatibility coverage.
- Design and implement scalable solutions for compatibility validation, test automation, and new Windows platform scenarios.
- Build AI-powered solutions to improve test authoring experiences and apply data-driven engineering approaches.
- Modernize compatibility engineering tools using secure, reliable, and maintainable software engineering practices.
- Investigate compatibility issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver solutions that improve Windows customer experiences.
- Collaborate with Microsoft engineering teams and external partners to understand compatibility challenges and drive effective solutions.
- Build products and technologies used by millions of people across Windows, operating systems, cloud technologies, and emerging platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience in one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Preferred: master’s degree and 3+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 2+ years of industry experience designing, building, testing, and shipping software.
- Experience working with and building AI solutions is highly desired.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, leadership, collaboration, and ambiguity-management skills.
