Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, implement, and support complex applications and databases.
- Translate technical specifications into code, develop automated tests, and produce reports.
- Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
- Integrate data sources, APIs, third-party products, and enterprise services.
- Maintain detailed backend architecture and logic documentation.
- Implement security, data protection, resilience, and enterprise architecture best practices.
- Collaborate with front-end and cross-functional teams on backend interfaces and system issues.
- Promote code through development, test, and production environments and provide production support.
- Perform design, code, and test inspections and resolve elevated technical issues.
- Train and mentor less-experienced staff and participate in special projects.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, system integration, database design, and backend architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or a master’s degree/diploma in Computer Science.
- Appian expertise including SAIL UI, process models, records, integrations, best practices, health checks, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Experience with REST APIs, web services, enterprise system integration, and Appian plugin development.
- Knowledge of system reliability practices, including logging and alerting.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Bamboo and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of AWS fundamentals, S3, SQL, data modeling, CDTs, records, and reporting.
- Experience with workflow automation and process optimization, plus exposure to AI/ML use cases such as document processing and GenAI integration.
- Ability to understand enterprise architecture standards, security policies, business functions, and technology needs.
