Responsibilities
- Design and implement real-time embedded systems that satisfy functional safety and cybersecurity requirements.
- Develop embedded software, device drivers, bootloaders, Yocto images, device trees, and multi-threaded modular components.
- Define system and product architecture, requirements, user-interface requirements, and allocation of requirements to subsystems.
- Plan and execute sprint-based software development activities and participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Conduct code reviews, manage code changes, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Create and execute unit and integration tests for firmware requirements.
- Debug software, hardware/software integration issues, and target boards using laboratory and debugging tools.
- Prototype software on custom hardware and perform low-level board bring-up.
- Optimize, refactor, and improve real-time software performance.
- Apply secure coding, static and dynamic analysis, encryption, threat modeling, and vulnerability remediation practices.
- Address EU-CRA, IEC 62443, and other cybersecurity compliance requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Guide and mentor other team members and collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- 15+ years of embedded software development experience, preferably with Embedded Linux.
- Expert programming skills in C, C++, and shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience with device-driver development, Yocto image building, and device-tree development.
- Experience with ARM or PowerPC processors, FLASH memory, ADCs, RTC devices, and embedded communication protocols including I2C, SPI, CAN, RS-232/RS-485, and Modbus.
- Experience with bootloaders, preferably U-Boot, and familiarity with Linux kernel internals.
- Experience with SQLite, JSON, unit testing, GDB, JTAG, and J-Link.
- Hands-on experience with secure coding, open-source software licensing, data encryption, vulnerability identification, and cybersecurity compliance.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, virtualization such as VMware, and agile development methodologies.
- Experience with Git or SVN, static analysis tools such as PC-Lint and Coverity, and MISRA-C standards.
- Knowledge of RTOS, Qt, UML, VS Code, QBS, software build automation, and multi-threaded software design.
- Experience with Black Duck, Microsoft Azure threat modeling, EU-CRA, and IEC 62443 is preferred or advantageous.
- Experience with measurement products for temperature, pressure, electricity, or gas is advantageous.
- Experience using copilot tools for code development or unit testing is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Telecommunication engineering.
- Strong written and verbal English communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, learning ability, and comfort handling ambiguity.
