Responsibilities
- Build, enable, maintain, validate, and release a production-quality Linux SDK for a 64-bit RISC-V MPU.
- Enable the boot and firmware stack, including boot flow, early platform initialization, U-Boot, and OpenSBI.
- Drive Linux kernel and BSP enablement covering SoC bring-up, Device Tree, CPU, memory, and interrupt subsystems.
- Develop and debug device drivers for multimedia, connectivity, DMA, power, clock, reset, and platform services.
- Create platform tests and validate the SDK and platform on FPGA, emulation, virtual platforms, and first silicon.
- Root-cause issues across hardware, firmware, and the Linux kernel during pre- and post-silicon validation.
- Work with architects, hardware, safety teams, OEMs, and Tier-1 customers on requirements, bring-up, enablement, roadmaps, and release readiness.
- Provide validation feedback that influences future RISC-V CPU and SoC features and upstream fixes where appropriate.
Requirements
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Typically 3–5 years of experience in Embedded Linux platform or BSP development.
- Expert-level C programming skills and the ability to read low-level firmware and kernel code.
- Strong knowledge of Linux boot flow, memory management/MMU, interrupts, and SMP.
- Hands-on SoC or platform bring-up experience and ownership of BSP quality.
- Hands-on experience with U-Boot, the Linux kernel, Device Tree, and Yocto/OpenEmbedded.
- Strong debugging skills with GDB and at least one of OpenOCD/JTAG, Lauterbach, or similar tools.
- Experience working with FPGA, emulation, or early-silicon platforms.
- RISC-V RV64 experience or strong exposure to other application-class CPU architectures is preferred.
- Experience with pre-silicon/FPGA validation, post-silicon debug and triage, multimedia Linux stacks, QEMU, virtual platforms, emulation workflows, or automated validation is preferred.
