Principal AI Engineer

- Design, build, and deploy autonomous multi-agent workflows with conditional routing, parallel execution, state management, and error recovery.
- Develop reusable agent node libraries, platform patterns, versioning strategies, testing frameworks, and graph-based workflows.
- Build production FastAPI applications with asynchronous I/O, integrating PostgreSQL, Redis, external services, and streaming interfaces.
- Integrate AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and OpenAI GPT-4 through RESTful and event-driven architectures.
- Implement prompt management, Redis checkpointing, Model Context Protocol and function-calling integrations, hybrid intelligence, and structured response pipelines.
- Implement Langfuse or LangSmith observability, agent evaluation, tracing, telemetry, performance monitoring, and LLM cost optimization.
- Ensure enterprise security, access control, data governance, Responsible AI compliance, and robust error handling.
- Partner with data engineers, business analysts, UX teams, senior engineers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable agent solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- At least 9 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years building and deploying production LLM-powered applications.
- Expert-level asynchronous Python programming, including asyncio and async/await patterns.
- Production experience with LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Autogen, or similar agentic orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or OpenAI GPT-4 and with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience building autonomous multi-step agent systems with conditional logic, state management, tool calling, ReAct, Plan-and-Execute, and tool-use patterns.
- Experience with Model Context Protocol, agent-to-agent communication, LLMOps, Langfuse or LangSmith, and scalable prompt engineering.
- Experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD pipelines, FastAPI, and production asynchronous web applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills in globally distributed teams.
- Global life sciences or GPS experience and experience managing or collaborating with offshore technical teams are preferred.
