Base Salary
$110k - $130k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-quality, testable, and maintainable code for the billing and payments system.
- Develop full-stack features using Java, relational databases, and frontend technologies.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for code exploration, test scaffolding, problem solving, and production-quality code development.
- Ensure security, quality, scalability, and performance are maintained throughout development.
- Write comprehensive test cases for new code using JUnit 5, Mockito, and AssertJ.
- Collaborate with US-based and global software engineering and product teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Participate in solutioning meetings and evaluate technical tradeoffs collaboratively.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of professional experience in application development.
- Professional production experience developing with Java.
- Understanding of relational databases, specifically MySQL.
- Familiarity with Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, and Hibernate is preferred.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSP is preferred.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development tools and writing comprehensive automated tests.
- Ability to learn new systems or legacy codebases quickly, manage time effectively, and deliver high-quality code.
- Experience in FinTech or higher education and familiarity with student billing or tuition workflows are appreciated or advantageous.
